Daniel is a research software engineer and postdoc at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel in the Ocean Research Technology Centre (ORTC). He develops tools and infrastructures for FAIR, open, and reproducible geoscientific research and is a proponent for cultural change and transformation towards open scholarship, open infrastructures, open research information, and reproducibility in the project NFDI4Earth (as service portfolio manager) and the CODECHECK initiative. His professional interest is improving the scholarly publication process and reproducibility of research with new information technology — of course with Free and Open Source Software! He enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee 🥏 — the best sport ever invented by humankind.
